Sightseeing Tour 1 | Spirits of the Sierra: History, Mischief & a Bloody Good Time
Step off the beaten path and into the spirited heart of Nevada with this unforgettable journey to the storied Carson Valley.
Our morning begins with a bold twist at Minden Mill Distilling, where mastery meets mischief with their award-winning spirits. Sip on their Evil Bean Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur — a morning indulgence that proves you don’t have to wait for the night to shake things up. Tour this state-of-the-art craft distillery and, if you choose, sample their distinctive creations that celebrate the pioneering spirit of the West.
From there, we’ll roll into the charming town of Genoa, Nevada’s very first settlement. Wander the tree-lined streets and discover centuries of history, frontier grit, and Wild West characters at your own pace.
Thirsty for more? We’ll toast to the past at the legendary Genoa Bar, Nevada’s oldest thirst parlor. Step into a saloon where time stands still — a place that’s welcomed the likes of Clark Gable, John Wayne, and Raquel Welch — and order their famously spicy Bloody Mary, or simply soak in the ambiance of this storied spot.
We’ll wrap up our visit with a one-of-a-kind historical Chautauqua performance in the Genoa Town Hall, featuring a character from the iconic Dangberg Home Ranch. Living history comes alive through colorful storytelling and vivid portrayals of Nevada lore. As we board the bus for our return to Reno, enjoy a gourmet box lunch prepared by Sierra Chef, one of the area’s premier caterers.
Return to Reno with your taste buds tingling, your curiosity satisfied, and your spirits lifted — because some stories are best experienced, not just told.
